Excellent show today, Frank, and packed with good information.
Why Novak is still a free man is beyond me. That CNN canned his traitorous ass is the only thing I can think of as a plus for that sycophant network.
Thanks especially for your rundown of the Libby trial. I’m not sure I have as much faith as you, but I’m praying you are right to say “It ain’t over yet.” I wonder what “Big Russ” is thinking of his boy now? Even if Libby isn’t convicted or if he is the only one convicted before Fitz is through with them, at least Russert has been unmasked.
I was very pleased to get your perspective on a story that is not getting near enough attention: The dismissal of US Attorneys by our criminal Justice Department.
Even with glowing reviews of their job performances, Gonzales is removing federal prosecutors not in lockstep with BushCo and replacing them with conservative loyalists from Bush’s inner circle. Most of the newly appointed attorneys have been hand-picked by Gonzales under a little known provision of the Patriot Act and few of them have any ties to the communities they are supposed to serve. The forced resignation of John McKay of Washington state brings (I think I’m right on this) the number of dismissed US Attorneys to 10 from 10 different states.
Here are two articles regarding these action by the Justice dept:

Thanks for keepin’ it real.
Thanks for your kind words Mirth, and thanks for listening. I assume you listened via our (relatively new) stream. We’d like your input as to how that all worked for you. Ya know, I used to be a lot more light-hearted and a bit more strident in my broadcasting. BUT things have reached a point where there ain’t much to laugh at. ONE thing I TRY to point out is that although Dems have a sliver-thin,kinda majority in the Senate, they are still able to bring the evil deeds of the rats out into the light where (if you know where to look) you can see just what we’ve been talking about for the last three years IS true. AND worse that we ever imagined.
It is still fun to ridicule and make fun of the idiots on the reich AND their followers. This show is the funnest thing I do in a lighted room, and the best part of my week. I hope it becomes the favorite part of YOUR week as well. Shoot, the next thing you know Mirth, YOU’LL become a caller too.
Frank, I clicked the KLAY graphic at the left side of this page and there you were, no problems at all.
You’re right that even with their sliver-thin majority the Dems are bringing it home to us and Waxman, for one, has hardly started. I learned from your co-host (?) Traci’s blog ( http://washingtonwoman.blogspot.com/ ) that my honorable Senator Bingaman will be unraveling the Marianas mess. Yep, there’s a bunch to learn in these next two years.
Aside from the deaths and the suffering caused by this administrations cold greedy bloody hands (because nothing compares to this), it doesn’t get much more mind-boggling than planeloads of money ‘bricks’, more than a billion dollars worth, flown out of this country and poof!….this from a government that sez we can’t fund Social Security or healthcare for the citizens they supposedly serve. Funny, we aren’t hearing much about this from the so-called fiscal conservative. Actually, it’s not so funny.
So to all you readers here, click the KLAY pic every Friday, 12-1 Pacific time and Frank will help you make sense of it all.
Thank you, Mirth, for your support of both the Equal Time site and to Washington Woman. Your feedback is both welcomed and appreciated.
It is truly astonishing what this administration has managed to pull off. Fortunately, we finally have caring people, such as your Sen. Bingaman, and the hard-working Rep. Waxman looking out for us. I’m hoping that they, and others , will make a difference and enable us to turn this mess around.
Traci, offering information to our fellow citizens to the best of our abilities and in the absence of an unfettered press is what we are all trying to do. My thanks to you is wholehearted and I’m appreciative of the chance to contribute.

Frank, today I had a chance to listen to last weeks show (and for all those like me who can’t always catch the show live, it’s a quick download). I was very moved by Grouchy’s eloguent commentary, particularly the statistic he quoted and of those the most infuriating was that in 2000 (I think he said) the percentage of positive evaluations for disabilites was at 32%, and that has now dropped to 3.1%.
GODDAMNIT!
Grouch’s segment is about to be entered into the Congressional record as a part of testimony by the good folks of Paralyzed Veterans of America. He’s a great guy with a huge heart, a brave warrior and suffers for it to this day. I pray this opens Americas eyes and also that the Dems can drag the “support the troops” phoneys in the GOP into doing the right thing.
